December Love Letter
from "Your Secret Admirer"
I took strands of your hair and built a nest with them in the branches of a flowering dogwood tree that grows in your back yard.
In that nest I put that big stuffed ostrich I won for you at the Lawrence County fair last summer.
Remember when we kissed on the Ferris Wheel?
In my heart there was a cliff with children having nursery rhymes sung to them by their mother and roasting marshmallows on a cool, damp evening.
