The Death of Love's Blues' #3 (July 2014)
by Steve Gigante

~ Muscadine Wine Fourth of July Down In The Basement Anniversary Blues ~

If love goes wrong...
And, you know, sometimes it does... Just let it the fuck go and move on.

Leave it at the door you broke down
Leave it at the door you broke through
When all you held was fire
On your tongue
Her trembling desperate lost lonely beautiful body
At the end of miles
Spent
Burning
Found
Three or four day advice
From a cut rate chicken house mechanic
"What's there to do around here?"
"Try to not get picked up by the cops"
I walked around
Anyway
Another ruined Sun speck
Beetle Bug-sized watermelon town
Under
Flat-footed Texas snake boots
Biting the dust at dusk
Sleeping in the timing belt fucked car
Lust spilled
Over
Dark hours
That crushed holy
Beaten
Sound
Splintered
Broken reverb soaked sticks
Making her
Twice as wet as hot city streets
And about five times as dirty

So, yeah.
Just move on.
With kindness and compassion and love and understanding.
"Good luck, baby" on your lips.
"Good luck, darling" in your heart.
Why be a psycho?
Why be an asshole?
What's the goddamn point?
