The Teenaged Dreams Of Lauren Hamami (September 2017)
by Lauren Hamami

Dreamt that I went to a giant water park that was also an aquarium. Children swam with the world's most exotic fish and only a pane of glass separated them. I swam around the park and found a secluded pool that opened up to lake in Japan. There was a life guard posted up that would blow his whistle every time I tried to dip into the calm water. He didn't say I couldn't swim there he just gave one loud and quick whistle. So I stopped trying to swim and instead sat on the shore and studied my view. There was a humble temple that looked like it could even just be a home along the shore, not far from where I was. There were sail boats made only of cotton, with no people on them, just softly drifting like decoration. Then a father and son emerged from the water. They got out and sat near me, breathing heavily and smiling with fists full of ginseng that they found on the other side of the lake. Then we all sat in awe and watched as about 5 dolphins began dancing at the surface of the water. They were extremely advanced; they had facial expressions and tattoos and personalities that were almost humanly complex. They had culture and they weren't afraid to show it.
